So... I’ve been in search of a truck to use mostly for hauling my motorcycle to the track as well as DD duties. I’ve settled on a Colorado/Canyon because I can get a small engine with a manual. Right now I’m stuck between wanting to get a fairly nice one-owner one with 77k which I can get for $3500, or getting one which is listed for $2k now which has 173k on it. Not sure what to do! Which one would you pick?

Low miles, think it looks better too IMHO!

If you go with the lower price/high mileage, you’ll make up the difference of the cost in repairs with 173k miles on it vs the one with 77k miles.

Neither. Get a small enclosed trailer. You can usually find a decent one on craigslist for around $1,500. Add a Pit Bull Trailer Restraint and you’re good to go.

Your bike and stuff won’t get wet if it rains, and you can load it the night before or leave it loaded the night after getting back from the track.

Nah my Acura has 175k on it now so looking for something new. I actually already have a TRS that I used all last year with my friends van, I’m planning on mounting it in the truck bed (it’ll fit with the arm in front of the rear wheel).

If you really want a value and motorcycle hauling capacity and don’t mind the creeper rep... Utility vans are the way to go, and you can sleep in the back. My dad swears by it.

But of the two you listed... Might as well go for lower miles.

That reminds me, I need to get around to listing my trailer.

My friend had a white e-150 work van that I used all last summer, and I definitely do mind the creeper rep haha :D

I’d go for the blue one. My stepbrother has a similar base model Colorado of that year and mileage and loves it.

Don’t blame you one bit! My dad, on the other hand, was paranoid about people looking in the windows and stealing his stuff. Tint wasn’t good enough, so naturally he rattle-canned the windows. Because that doesn’t look extra creepy or anything.

Yeah it’s a good idea if you keep high-value equipment in there a lot of the time. My friend’s had no side windows (except in the front) and spray painted the rear windows black to keep anyone from looking in. Effective, but not my cup of tea.

Cool. I need to get it checked by a mechanic but it seems like they’re pretty solid trucks.
